Celebrate Easter 2021!
Posted on Apr 3, 2021
The work of our possible reconciliation with God was completed on Friday(John 19:30), while the proof that we all can have eternal life with Him came on Sunday when He brought Jesus back from the dead (Acts 2:32). To those that accept Jesus as who He claims to be, the Son of God, are promised eternal life (Romans 6:4) as heirs of God, adopted and grafted into His family, truly to be sons (and daughters) of God.
The work was done by and is fully completed through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:10, Romans 5:18). Only He could pay the debt that our rebellion, that is our sin, deserved (Romans 6:23). He paid the debt even though we didn’t know Him because He loved us (1 John 4:19). And He wants us to know Him (Revelation 3:20).
There is no other way to God except through Him (John 14:6). Only by belief in Him (Acts 16:31), will one get to spend eternal life with God in paradise. The alternative, the only alternative, is eternity in hell (John 5:24). There's only two destinations; heaven and hell. And God doesn’t decide who goes where, we each decide where we will spend eternity (Romans 8:29-30). He wants us to spend it with Him (2 Peter 3:9), but you can choose not to. And not accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, rejecting God’s gift, is willfully choosing eternal damnation (Mark 16:16).
It doesn’t mater your background, God will forgive you (1 John 1:9). It doesn’t matter where you are now, Jesus calls to you (Luke 5:32). Don’t let your sins keep you away. Don’t wait t clean your life up (Luke 12:25) because it could be too late. Come on and accept Him and secure your place in heaven (John 3:16).
Your sins are probably not much different than those of many others, including those that Jesus has already saved (1 John 1:8, Colossians 3:5-8) . Come and join the family of God and let those help you as well as help each other. Everyone sins and will continue to sin (Romans 3:23). What should separate those that have Jesus in their life is they try to not sin. They acknowledge their sin nature, not nurture it, and try to be more Christ like.
Jesus calls for everyone to come and repent (Acts 3:19). He can and will forgive anyone. The Church likewise is called to do the same (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is called to accept the individual but not the sin. Accepting the individual doesn’t mean that the sin is condoned. Discernment is needed for a healthy family (Philippians 1:9-10). For those with serious sins, some oversight is needed but don’t confuse this with judgment. God accepts us as we are when we come, but He expects us to grow and become more like Him (2 Peter 3:18). And Jesus shows us what He looks like (John 14:9~).
If you have a place that teaches the word of the Judeo-Christian God through the 66 book Bible, then go there. It is normal, but for no reason, to feel awkward when visiting a new congregation. But it doesn’t haven’t to be. And don’t think that you can worship on your own. Paul the Apostle instructs us to not fail to meet regularly with other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25); cooperate worship is desired by God.
To those of us that don’t have a church home should just indicate it so, put it out there, maybe here on FB. Let people know you don’t have a church home, or that you don’t know Jesus, and I bet there would be people, probably some you already know, that would be glad to meet you at the building door and welcome you in. Maybe they’ll even offer transportation. If no one does, it is not an indication of Jesus' love for you, but rather their lack of love for Jesus (1 Corinthians 16:22).
Have a Blessed day everyone.
